140 Years of Liberty: Statue of Liberty and illuminated torch in misty New York Harbor with ferry passengers, historical events and five observances

🗽 140 Years of Liberty. 140 Years of Hope. 🇺🇸

Imagine leaving everything you’ve ever known behind. Your home, your family, your country. Traveling across an ocean toward an uncertain future, carrying little more than your belongings and the hope of a better life. You’re scared. You’re exhausted. You don’t know what tomorrow holds. Then, through the fog on the horizon, you see her. Lady Liberty. Standing tall, holding her torch high, welcoming you to a land of possibility.

On October 28, 1886, the Statue of Liberty was dedicated in New York Harbor. For 140 years, she’s stood as a symbol of freedom, peace, opportunity, and the belief that people from different backgrounds can come together to build something extraordinary.

America has always been a nation shaped by people from all walks of life, bringing their cultures, traditions, dreams, and stories with them. That’s the beauty of the melting pot. We haven’t always lived up to the promise Lady Liberty represents, but that promise is still worth believing in.

May we never lose sight of what she stands for. A little more kindness, a little more understanding, and a willingness to welcome those searching for a better tomorrow. ❤️

Happy 140th anniversary, Lady Liberty. May your light continue to shine.
